With the latest release of DB2 Universal Database (DB2 UDB) for Linux, UNIX,
and Windows, IBM provides .NET developers with a credible alternative to SQL
Server.
Traditionally, developers working with .NET have resorted to Microsoft SQL
Server as the database of choice. However, as the popularity of .NET has
increased, so too has its support on other back ends: today most major
databases offer platform-optimized data providers for .NET.
The DB2 Universal Database (DB2 UDB) product has been at the forefront of
.NET integration efforts, and the "Stinger" version of this database product
(previously known as "Stinger") includes features that won't be available
until the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (previously known as "Yukon"),
